"It seems the servicemen are more focused on selling us things we don't need than taking care of the system we have. Yesterday your man said our motor sounded bad and we need a new one. We just bought this motor from you a FEW MONTHS ago. Then he tried to sell us more things. This isn't the first time this has happened, either. This seems to be the norm now rather than the exception. Our question now is: Will your servicemen do their best to keep the system we have running at peak operation or will they ignore a thing here or there so they can sell us something next time? You've been our HVAC guys for over twenty years, but at this point we are growing leery of the way your're doing business and we have to ask: Are your servicemen being pushed to sell us something every time they're here, regardless if we need it or not? In your question #7 below I now have to say Who knows? and for questions #9 my husband was very upset about the way the serviceman tried to sell us something you just sold us, so NO, it's not easy doing business with you if this is how you plan to do business in the future. And to answer #10, I don't think we're getting good value for our money if you're trying to sell us something we don't need; something you just sold us."

"An appointment for a mini split and house heat pump was scheduled for a check-up on the 3 Oct 1200-1400. At 1441, I was called to say the technician was on his way. at 1450, the technician called to say he was just leaving Raleigh for my home in Fayetteville arriving after 1600. I agreed and latter called Service Experts customer service to make know the inconvenience and not being notified in a timely manner so to have salvaged the day. Before the technician arrived, Service Experts scheduling called and wanted to cancel the technician who was coming due to his limited experience with mini split systems. The next available appointment was scheduled for a month and a half latter 15 Nov. It appears how my time and person have little value! *Please note how the previous tune-up technician was also inexperienced with the mini split system."

"The representative left things that I thought should be repaired ( loose cover plate for outside power box and re caulking needed for another outside power box . He did not really explain what he did. He just said everything is fine. When he left, I felt he may not have done a complete job. He gave me filter sizes that were incorrect. He recommended costly additions that were not needed as he later learned. I felt the company was trying to exploit older customers who do not know better. Paying up to $1,000 for surge protection when I already had professionally installed ( licensed electrician ) whole house surge protection. I am a long time customer who has had a service contract for 20 years or more and have purchased top of the line HVAC units several times. So not real happy this time."

"I have been a customer of Service Experts (and its predecessor Piedmont) for 32 years. This has included having an annual service contract (now on five units) and purchasing four complete HVAC systems from you (at a cost of $5-6000 each). I have recommended you to others. I have always been quite satisfied with service received. However, two days ago I called about a loud noise from a heat pump, one serviced in the past month by SE.. I was afraid that a bearing was going out. The technician said that the noise came from a loose screw in the outer case, tightened it, and charged us $96 for the service call. Why did your previous technicians (they made two trips in last six weeks to work on this particular unit) not tighten all the screws? This is your responsibility, not mine. I intend to take all my HVAC business elsewhere in the future, including the service contract (nearly $500 per year) and any needed repair/replacement."

"To whom it may concern, On Monday 09/16/19 I had requested an appointment to have my toilet in the master bedroom evaluated and repaired, if required, as it was making an unusual noise when flushing. An appointment was made for a service technician to arrive at my home between the hours of 1000-1200 on Tuesday 09/18/19. The technician evaluated the toilet in question and confirmed it needed to have a rebuild kit purchased and installed to remediate the issue. Due to the issue with the toilet in the master bedroom I was told that the toilet in the second bath needed to be replaced because if one failed then this one was going to as well. I had no issues with the second toilet. While in my home he noticed the flow in the bathroom sinks was not optimal and said he would check the aerator. Upon doing so the faucet was damaged and a leak occurred under the sink which then needed repair. Because the model that was in the bathroom could not be found two new faucets had to purchased and installed as they are in the same vanity. I made an appointment for a toilet repair and what actually took place was approximately six hours of additional work that I did not authorize to have performed. This resulted in additional work totaling up to approximately $1000.00 (including the faucets purchased at Lowes Home Improvement) and my time to have to go to a home improvement store to purchase parts. In addition to purchasing faucets I had to purchase different flappers as the ones in the rebuild kit did not work correctly. I understand that the technician was just trying to help but an estimate of work needed to be furnished up front and authorized in advance of work being performed which did not take place. I would appreciate you looking into this matter as I feel that I am paying for services that were not requested which resulted in unexpected charges due to unauthorized work."

"There are a few reasons for the low rating. First, there was a confirmed leak in the drain pan because there are water spots on the ceiling below the unit. There was no fix offered, which I would have paid money for. There also was a clogged drain pipe that was causing the water to come into the drain pan. No fix was offered for this either. "Im a long time Service Experts customer and hoped Id have a satisfactory plumbing experience. It was anything but. The technician was abrupt and a know it all. When I made inquiries, his responses were rude and short. Im the customer and have a right to ask questions. It was obvious he had somewhere else he had to be. Im not a plumber but it does seem as though an annual plumbing inspection would include an inspection of the indoor faucets. When I pointed out the noise made when flushing the toilets and using the faucets, he said that was just normal. I know what they should sound like. Then after he claimed he went under the house, surprise, surprise, the noise the imaginary noise that Id been hearing is due to a faulty water pressure valve! He also discovered that an expansion tank, rebuild of the water heater and flushing was needed along with the replacement of the sewer lines in the back yard! When I reminded that I septic tank, he real quick corrected himself and said water lines leading to septic tank. I cant trust his assessment and feel he was trying to take advantage. Please rectify."
