"The 50 gallon unit was installed in a small space beneath the stairway to the second floor. The installers should have given more consideration for maintenance access. I could not get far enough inside the small door to easily see and turn the valves: supply, heated water, temperature and expansion. Matt came out later and moved the unit a few inches to the left. Moving it rearward would have helped more, however, the supply line was too close to the tank to move it rearward."

When I set up the maintenance appointment, I was hesitant relative to the COVid19 because of the possibility of a person (me) being asymptomatic and fully vaccinated passing the virus on to someone else. My concern was for your technician. The person taking my call said she would send someone who had been vaccinated. When the technician came OOPS he said he just looked at his notes and saw the request for a technician who was vaccinated. He did respect my not allowing him in the house. 2. When I set up the maintenance appointment, I specified that it was time to replace the media filter under the house. I assumed that the technician would bring the new filter. I had to ask the technician if he replaced the filter he said no. (I dont think he even checked the filter, which has been the standard for all my previous maintenance visits) So, the technician had to drive back to warehouse to get one (and probably made him late for his next appointment). This should have been avoided."

I am writing this having had a follow-up tune up visit and having spoken to another Service Experts technician. What I concluded after talking to Brycen: 1. the unit a bit low on coolant (which is an old phased out one), 2. there could be a leak somewhere. 3. Unit could use a tune up which I would need to schedule separately, and if I were to subscribe to your maintenance plan then the arrival fee for this visit would be waved and I would save over $100 on the spot and for subsequent visits. From this conversation I concluded that I could do without a monthly plan and a tune-up would solve my problems for the forceable future. I wish I had been originally told that: searching for a leak is an extra 200+ fee, and even if the leak is found there's a lot more investment to get things fixed for such an old system; and that payments for a new system could be included into the regular maintenance plan payments... which is what I'm now doing - replacing the HVAC. I feel like I could have arranged all that on Brycen's visit and would have agreed to the advantage plan had I been given a clearer advice on the prospects of my old unit."
