We are trudging through the last of the weeks of winter but we still are relying on our furnaces, especially during cool nights. Nothing is worse than turning in at night just to realize your furnace won’t start up. If your furnace won’t turn on, here are a couple things you can check yourself before your call Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should replace standard air filters monthly. If you fail to do so, they can get clogged, restricting air flow and resulting in your furnace malfunctioning.
Check Your Thermostat
See if turning the temperature up a few degrees will get the furnace to turn on. If the current room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the heating system won’t turn on. Also, confirm the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem silly, but verify the power switch next to the heating system is “On.” Even gas heating equipment uses electricity so confirm the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch has not been accidently flipped to the “Off” position.
If you inspect all these things and your heating equipment will still not turn on, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 919-578-4329 and we’ll come out and get you taken care of as soon as possible.
