What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with some of the most typical cooling problems in Raleigh.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment running but there isn’t cool air being produced, you might need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not producing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan isn’t rotating could be that it merely burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity could cause more condensation so another problem to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is blocked. If you can check these issues, you may be able to pinpoint the problem; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause significant cooling troubles. Another issue that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your unit is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of many things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the equipment is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be good to go. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your problem, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
